Description:

Beta-Conglycinin is a soluble glycoprotein that is isolated directly from soy. The protein is a heterotrimeric compound with subunits: α, α', and β. The β subunit is the main focus. In reference to its structure, Beta-Conglycinin has remarkable thermostability. Temperatures in excesss of 75° C are required for denaturation, and even then, the majority of the secondary structure is still intact.

Beta-Conglycinin is an exciting protein because it has several health benefits and may eventually lead to healthier dieting alternatives. The health benefits of Beta-Conglycinin include prevention of Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) and appetite suppression. Cardio Vascular Disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. Beta-Conglycinin can help regulate and lower LDL, “bad cholesterol” and atherosclerosis which are main contributors to CVD.
